This year International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (you may know it as IDAHO, IDAHOT or IDAHOBIT) celebrates 10 years. Around the world people will be joining in the celebrations marking this important day and around the world people will be taking part in a minute of noise, a tradition that started right here in Sheffield.

To celebrate this fact, Sheffield’s own E.D.E.N Film Productions created this film featuring members from Sheffield Pride, LGBT Sheffield, The Sheffield Student’s Union and several political parties, not to mention lots of members of the public. Have a look!

You can celebrate IDAHOBiT in Sheffield at the Sheffield Peace Gardens at 12 noon on Sunday 17 May where a one-minute ‘noise’ will join our voices with other events across the world to send a clear message that homophobia and transphobia have no place in our society.

To continue the celebration of sexual and gender diversities in Sheffield, and directly after the event in the Peace Gardens, Museums Sheffield will be holding a range of free exhibitions, stalls and presentation activities between 1pm-4pm at the Millennium Gallery.
