Your Guide To Sheffield Pride 2015

Sheffield Pride is less than a month away – here’s all you need to know about the big event.

Sheffield Pride, for many the culmination of the LGBT year, is back on 4 July and this year Pride is taking over the entire University of Sheffield Student’s Union!

Expect a sparkling parade, high profile main stage performances, chilled out garden hangs, lounge bars, stalls, celebrity appearances and massive DJ sets as Pride 2015 comes to town.

This year’s theme and message is #nomorehate, tackling hate crime in Sheffield and beyond.

“We want to end the persecution and hate related crimes of LGBT+ people both nationally and internationally.”

12-5pm Sheffield Pride Daytime 

DJs, live performances,  activities, stalls, poetry, a courtyard party as well as food and drink and more. The daytime event costs £3 but also features a free family area with live activities for all ages as well as performances from local bands.

LGBT themed films will be shown 5-8pm in the Student’s Union Auditorium between the day and the evening event.

8pm Sheffield Pride Evening

The evening begins with a candlelit vigil, organised together with the Centre for HIV, on the concourse at 8.30pm. It will feature performances and talks and a moment to think about the victims of HIV, homophobia and transphobia.

At 9pm the performance area opens again with a range of acts ranging from drag and cabaret to dance and clubbing.

11pm Sheffield Pride Afterparty

At 11pm the Sheffield Pride afterparty kicks off with glitter, dance and massive DJ sets as well as a big headline performance by Neon Jungle! Open until 3.30am this is going to be big.

Entry for the day and evening events is £3 and one ticket gives you access to both events. The after party is £6.
