Transforming Cinema is a trans-focused film festival that gives transgender, gender nonconforming and non-binary people a platform to broadcast their voices and stories. The festival is taking place this weekend and includes smash hit film Major! as well as Boy Meets Girl’s star Rebecca Root.
From budding writers to international stars, as well as some of the UK’s most influential speakers, artists and filmmakers, Sheffield’s first trans film festival Transforming Cinema aims to inspire, entertain, break down barriers and build bridges.
Brought to you by Sheffield’s own E.D.E.N Film Productions, the festival has a diverse range of films on offer, showcasing a series of transgender, non-binary and gender nonconforming stories and experiences.
Not only are there some ground-breaking films to enjoy but there is also an exclusive art exhibition on trans masculinity by The Test Shot, as well as talks and panels with Boy Meets Girl superstar Rebecca Root; activist, writer and award-winning filmmaker CampbellX, and award-winning filmmaker, writer and actor Jake Graf.
In order for everyone to be able to attend Transforming Cinema tickets are free, but to secure a space at the panels and films you need to register for the events that you want to attend.
