As One Direction brushes off the dust from another media storm following a possibly homophobic comment from Liam Payne, the band releases a new video featuring four handsome astronauts, robots and a rainbow mug.

This last week One Direction’s Liam Payne has been involved in a media storm surrounding a statement he made at a concert. Talking to the crowd before performing “Girl Almighty” at a gig in Ohio he said: “This song is about trying to find that number one woman, which none of you can relate to because most of you are girls. Except for the boys in here, you know what I’m talking about.”

Easy to see why some found that one more than a little homophobic – though Liam insists he is not in “any way, shape or form.”

And despite seemingly reluctantly apologising on Twitter, LGBT fans of the band are less than impressed.

Either way, the boys yesterday released the video for their latest single “Drag Me Down” and it’s pretty spacey. Featuring Harry, Louis, Niall and Liam dressed up as astronauts this is your average boyband video of supersize porpotions (think Backstreet Boys’ “Larger Than Life”) and includes plenty of eyecandy for those that way inclined.

Interestingly, for those hardcore fans looking for further proof that one of the boys could be gay or bi - the #Larry dream is still alive – we do see Harry drinking from a rainbow mug.

Does it mean anything? Is that Louis inside that robot costume? It’s all getting a bit much.

And further still, do we forgive Liam? We’ll leave that one up to you.
